There’s just something about homemade meatballs simmering in sauce that feels like home. 🤎 Around here, spaghetti and meatballs is one of those meals that brings everyone to the table fast. We love making these for our families because they’re hearty, comforting, kid-approved, and even better the next day. Made with quality Montana-raised beef, these meatballs are tender, flavorful, and perfect for piling high over a plate of spaghetti on a busy weeknight.
Ingredients
2 lbs ground beef
1 cup breadcrumbs
2 eggs
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
1/3 cup milk
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 small onion, finely diced
2 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
1 tbsp Italian seasoning
2 tbsp fresh parsley (optional)
Olive oil for browning
Instructions
Mix the meatballs
In a large bowl, combine all ingredients until just mixed. Don’t overwork the meat or they’ll get tough.
Roll into meatballs
Form into golf ball-sized meatballs.
Brown them
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Brown meatballs on all sides (they do not need to cook fully yet).
Simmer in sauce
Transfer browned meatballs into your favorite marinara sauce and simmer on low for 25–30 minutes until fully cooked and tender.
Serve
Serve over spaghetti with parmesan cheese and garlic bread.
Optional Tips
Add a little pork sausage for extra flavor
Use beef broth in the sauce for richer taste
Freeze extra meatballs for easy dinners later
If there's no time to brown & simmer the meatballs, you can throw them in the oven at 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes. Then add them to your favorite pasta/sauce and serve!
Perfect with a ranch salad and warm garlic bread 🥩🍝
